Chapter 11 Test will be on Wednesday, November 12th.
You should know:
1. Weather tools and what they measure
2. The definitions of the following: air mass, weather, hurricane, precipitation, humidity, station model, dew point, front, and tornado.
3. The difference between high and low pressure systems and the weather they are associated with
4. The four types of fronts: stationary, occluded, cold, and warm
5. Types of clouds and the weather they bring...also how are they classified?
6. The relationship between temperature and humidity
7. The difference between storm warnings and storm watches
8. Know when air is saturated
9. Be able to read weather data and predict weather conditions (like the TCAP practice test questions we reviewed...REMEMBER to note the temperature to determine if it is below freezing or not as this affects precipitation)
10. Be able to interpret a station model
11. Be able to convert air pressure from a station model to its original form ( Ex: 013 really means 1001.3 mb)
12. Be able to read a weather map with fronts
13. Know how air moves (high pressure areas to low pressure areas or vice versa?)
