Chapter 15 Test: September 24th

Chapter 15 Study Guide
Here are the items to study for Wednesday’s test:
1. Know the definitions of the following: ion, resistant, proton, electron, voltage, electric discharge
2. Be able to label each item in a circuit (battery, switch, wire, buzzer, bulb, etc.)
3. Know the difference between a series circuit and a parallel circuit
4. Be able to identify each type of circuit when looking at a diagram
5. Know which circuits produce sound, light, or heat. (Does it have a light bulb, a buzzer, or something else?)
6. Know how to identify if a circuit is open or closed (hint: check the switch or see if there is a break in the circuit)
7. Identify the energy transformations in a circuit
Ex: battery (chemical) -> wire (electrical) - > bulb (radiant/light)….or buzzer (sound)
8. Know the definitions of insulator (plastic, wood, glass, etc.) and conductor (metals) and be able to identify examples of each. (What are braces?)
9. Be able to explain if there is a problem in a circuit (ex: open switch, wrong materials, incorrect connection, etc.)

10.  Be able to label the parts of an atom.
